What is the work that God wants you to do?

This is the work that God wants you to do. To believe in the One He sent.

I believe in Jesus.

What does that mean?

I believe that he really lived, died on the cross, and rose again.

What did you do after believing this?

I prayed that He would forgive my sins and come into my heart and take me to heaven.

Then what?

What do you mean?

How has that changed your life?

I know I’m going to heaven.

What else has changed?

Do you mean there’s more?

Jesus:lives through us

Jesus IS heaven. He is in you, with you and upon you. He is one with you in your spirit. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You can depend on Him for food, clothing and shelter for today and tomorrow. He is your Head, your Leader, your Boss. You are His son, His brother, His joy. You are the glove, He is the Hand that fills the glove. He is Spirit, you are His body. He is Life, You are alive.

He is in the life-changing business, and I am His servant. Are you His servant, too?

If Your Life Sucks

If . . .

Nothing changes

Nothing changes

If my life is not what I want it to be I have a choice.
I can complain,
blame others, (they don’t understand me, they don’t help me, . . .)
blame God, (He made me this way, He doesn’t care about me . . .)
blame my bad luck, (good things happen to others but not to me, this always happens no matter what I do . . .)
blame obstacles in my way, (I have tried, but I just can’t, it is too hard for me, I’m not smart enough, I’m not going to lower myself and do that, . . .)
blame the Government, (it is their job to take care of me, to give me a job I like and have fun doing, to decide hard questions for me, . . .)

OR,

I can go to JESUS.
I can read His message for me in the Bible.
I can believe Jesus’ words.
I can DO what the Bible says by the power of Jesus’ Spirit.

But I don’t understand the Bible.

Jesus says in the Bible that The Holy Spirit of Jesus will teach you all things. Ask Him to do that for you.

But I don’t understand the thee’s and thou’s, etc.

Read a modern translation like the New American Standard Bible; or the You Version Bible free online from Life.Church.

I read the Bible but nothing happens.

Start in the Gospel of John, the fourth book in the New Testament. Find it by using the Table of Contents in the beginning of the Bible. Read starting in the third chapter, the 16th verse: For God so loved the world (that’s us) that He gave His only begotten Son (that’s Jesus), that whoever believes in Him (trusts Jesus and does what He says) will NOT die but have everlasting life (be with Jesus forever).

Do what the Bible says to do.
It says to Believe God when He says He loves you. Don’t consult your feelings. Your feelings follow your thoughts and are NOT reliable as True Reality. First Choose to Believe God when He says He loves you. We all start our lives believing the lies of satan as Reality. God tells the truth, it is opposite of satan’s lies. We can Choose to Believe God. We can ask Him to help the parts of us that don’t believe Him and He will. Once you believe Jesus’ words and trust Him the Holy Spirit of Jesus will exchange your old dead spirit (which dies on the cross with Jesus when He died) and gives you a new spirit from God that loves God and wants to do what God wants (which He gives you when you rise with Him (figuratively) from the grave.

You then are joined to Jesus and become one with Him forever.

Keep reading the Bible and being taught by the Holy Spirit of Jesus.

Find a church that believes the Bible.

Ask God what He wants you to do.

Servant in field

“Which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’?

“But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink’?

“He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he?

“So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’ ”

– Jesus, Son of God, Luke 17:7–10 (NASB95)

The Elephant and the Mouse

Pastor Dave Terhune, a man who never left his initial joy, “his first love,” of being found and loved by Jesus, told me a story about “the great works we do as followers of Jesus.” There was once an elephant and a mouse who were crossing a rope and plank bridge across a chasm in the jungle. The elephant thundered across the bridge, “boom, boom, boom, boom.” The mouse too, “thundered” across the bridge beside him, “plink, plink, plink, plink.” When they crossed the bridge the mouse turned to the elephant and said, “We really shook that bridge, didn’t we?”

The Holy Spectator

We as followers and servants of Jesus have an awesome and holy privilege of watching God at work when we serve others at His command. The God of the universe touches the soul and spirit of His beloved child through words and actions He says and performs through us. His Spirit, one with ours, wrapped in the clay that is our bodies, communicates His infinite love for His child that may be terrified that God may disapprove of them, has rejected them, or even hate them. It is a holy moment, too precious for me to enter.

It fills me with joy to be a small part of it. Just a clay cup that Jesus uses to pour His Life Giving Living Water into a parched soul.

100% JESUS

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Daniel 7:14,27
