“If I don’t accept Jesus as my Savior I am going to Hell.” — Bonnie, later to become my friend and discipler
I thought I was a good person. I thought Jesus was irrelevant to me and my life. I didn’t care about Jesus’ love for me. But . . . going to Hell got my attention. I remembered a science fiction short story of a man who controlled everyone’s thoughts without them knowing it — and they didn’t know he was doing it. I thought, “Could Satan be doing this to me right now?” I decided Satan could very well be doing this to me. That started a two-week investigation into Jesus, the Bible, and Jesus confirming to me His existence and that He is God with miracles just for me. I confessed my sins and asked Him to come into my heart and save me. And nothing happened. I prayed again and still nothing happened. I got mad and said to Jesus, “I’ve done what you’ve asked, if I’m not saved it’s your fault.” And I went to sleep. Jesus humbled Himself down to my level and saved a rebellious evil man. Me.
If you honestly ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, He will.
